Azure Availability Zones

This entry is part 4 of 4 in the series Azure

Microsoft developed availability zones to help with availability when a problem occurs at a particular datacenter within a region. A datacenter is simply a building. Availability zones are not available in all regions, but they are available in the Canada Central region. In the map, if a region has the small white diamond icon in the blue circle, then that region has availability zones.

I like the Diagram of availability zones from msdn that shows availability sets, availability zones, and region pairs.
