Acronis Backup

Acronis develops on-premises and cloud software for backup, disaster recovery, and secure file sync and share and data access. For personal use you can backup your files and folders and also back up your entire operating system. There are other tools available as well, such as System Clean-up.

If you need it for personal use to back up your computer, you can have a look at Acronis True Image 2019.

There is an article at zinstall.com that discusses restoring your Acronis backup to a different computer with Windows 10.

Acronis has user forums here.

Restore

The first step to recovery is performing what’s called a “mount” of the Acronis backup file on the new computer. This operation allows to gain access to the backup’s contents, and thus to perform a restore. First, install Acronis on the new computer. You can use the trial version.

In Windows Explorer on the new computer, navigate to the external hard drive. Find the *.tib file on that external drive. Right-click and choose mount. I did not find “mount” however. I only found “Verify”. As the article suggests, you can verify it first.
