When you are building projects for your portfolio, consider aiming for three to five projects. How long will it take? Assuming you have the skills through courses and other resources, you could take about a week to do a project. Don’t do huge complex projects. Put together your projects. This might take a week or two to put them all together. Consider a website, Kaggle, LinkedIn or others.

Most data analysts do not work at the big tech companies. They work at midsize companies and some even work at small companies.

Should you become a data analyst? What type of people make good data analysts? Here’s a video called How to tell if a career in Data Analytics is right for you… Are you curious, analytical, logical, a problem-solver, a business strategist, mathematical, statistical, comfortable presenting and collaborating, and like to mostly work alone, but not always? If some of these describe you, might want to become a data analyst.
