You can get started with Figma for free if all you have is up to 2 editors and 3 projects. The first thing to do is to create a free Figma account.
Account
Create an account at figma.com with your email and a password. You can sign up with your Google credentials if you want. You will be directed to the Figma web app and be shown a few welcome messages.
Team
Create the Create Team button and give it a name, that you can always change later. You can now add a collaborator person if you wish. You will need to know their email address. Select the Starter Team. It’s free. You can always upgrade later. Not only that, you can have many many “viewers” with the Starter Team Plan allowing you to invite other stakeholders.
Project
After you create a team, you are taken to the team page. The next step is to create a project. With this free Starter Team Plan you can create up to 3 projects. That should be enough for now because a project can contain unlimited files. You can upgrade later. You could use one Figma file to contain all of the web pages in a website. Your one Figma file can have many pages, each page representing a web page. Your second file could contain your website as it appears on a mobile device.
Files
Files contain you designs and ideas. You can import Sketch files into Figma if you have any Sketch files. New files are opened in the Figma Editor. The Editor allows us to add vector objects to the canvas. We can easily move these object around on the canvas. We can adjust their properties to change how they appear.
