- Add a New Virtual CD/DVD Drive
- Install Windows 10 in VM
You can install a trial version of Windows 10 into your Hyper-V Manager.
First, create a new virtual machine in Hyper-V. Our previous post showed how to do that.
Click the Next button shown above. It will only take a few short minutes to install, depending on the speed of your computer.
Choose domain instead.
Since this is just a simple lab, choose Not Now for Cortana.
Hi. We’re getting everything ready for you. This might take several minutes. Don’t turn off your PC. Leave everything to us.
Choose your display size and click Connect.
One of the first things you will want to do, for security reasons, is to do a Windows Update. Since we connected this VM to the default switch, we should have access to the Internet in this VM, provided that the host computer has access. You can go to Windows Settings and run Update and Security to get the latest updates.
