In his book WPF 4.5 Unleashed, Adam Nathan uses the example of Microsoft’s Visual Studio program to guide him in creating panes that are similar to how Visual Studio works. Here does this in chapter 5, starting on page 130 – “Putting It All Together: Creating a Visual Studio-Like Collapsible, Dockabe, Resizable Pane”. We could use this type of design to make a “portfolio” or sample of some of the techniques we learned about.
