VMware Workstation Windows Lab

This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series VMware Workstation

Are you interested in learning how to create a virtual Windows network on your home Windows PC without having to invest in a bunch of computers? As long as you have one Windows computer that has at least two cores, 64-bit, and has at least 200GB of free hard disk space and at least 24GB of RAM (although it will install and function with less than 24GB) you can get started now. The software is from VMware and it is free for 30 days. It is called VMware Workstation Pro, also known as VMware Workstation.

Alternatively you can use Hyper-V.

Install VMware Workstation on your host computer.

Create a virtual network with VMware. The reason we want to have this network is to allow our VM to access the internet as well as communicate with other virtual machines. Create a Windows 10 or 11 virtual machine. Do this to become familiar with the process it is your first time. We’ll delete it later.
