What is The Third Age Network? The Third Age Network (TAN) is a network of THIRD AGE LEARNING groups in Ontario. Third Age learning usually occurs in the retirement years for those who want to keep their brains and bodies active and meet stimulating new friends. Third Age Network actively engages lifelong learning groups in a dynamic network to collaboratively promote the benefits of, and facilitate the availability of high-quality later life learning in Ontario.
The Third Age Learning movement was established in France in 1973. The movement rapidly spread throughout Europe and arrived in Canada, in Sherbrooke PQ, in the late 1970’s.
