What are register windows. Account registers are an alternative place to enter some of your transactions. With a register, you enter a transaction directly into the account that will be affected.
Except for income and expense accounts, every account can be opened in a register window. A great example would be the bank accounts and credit card accounts.
Old fashioned bookkeepers like to record bank and credit card transactions in a window that resembles the old-fashioned style register books.
Instead of “register”, the new QuickBooks may call it History. Click the Cog Wheel in the upper left. Go to Chart of accounts. On the right hand side column you will see either Run report or Account history. Find your bank account and click Account history. What’s an account history? It’s where you go to see every transaction included in an account. Look on the right to see your running balance.
