Operating Expense Ratio (OER KPI)

We may classify business expenses as either operating or capital expenditures. Operating expenses include the day-to-day expenses a company must pay to operate. This includes sales, advertising, equipment maintenance, cleaning, legal fees, insurance costs, accounting expenses, rent, travel, utilities, IT support and so on.

Operating expenses are also known as OPEX.
