What is Kindle? A Kindle is a small hand-held electronic device for reading books, which has been developed by online retailer Amazon. You can download books on to your Kindle by using a wifi connection. Some Kindles even have 3G technology allowing you to use the cellular network to download books wherever you are. You buy these books as Kindle versions of ‘e-books’ from the Amazon website or you can download PDFs of any sort of document. You can also download books to a PC or Mac and then transfer them to the Kindle via a USB cable. The Kindle Fire HD is a member of the Amazon Fire family of tablet computers that was released in 2012.
There is also a free Kindle app that’s available on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. For example, you can download the app to your Windows computer and after installing it a box will pop up asking you to register your Kindle. Here is where you can enter your previously set-up Amazon account. If you don’t have an Amazon account you can set one up now. After registering, you go to the user interface.
