Wikipedia says: “Digital nomads are a types of people who use telecommunications technologies to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner.”
Being a digital nomad is actually a lifestyle choice. Digital Nomads are able to do their jobs from “anywhere in the world” as long as they have a good internet connection and a good laptop. Tasks are completed from coffee shops, libraries or co-working spaces. According to an article at selina.com written by Alice Zylberszac, there are several careers that are candidates for being a digital nomad. There is a partial list below.
Digital Nomads spend at least a few months of the year abroad, change their destinations frequently (usually every few weeks but can stay up to 6 months), and earn a living while working online. Few people, however, make enough money to live and work anywhere in the world.
Investopedia says the following of digital nomads: “Digital nomads are people who are location-independent and use technology to perform their job. Digital nomads work remotely, telecommuting rather than being physically present at a company’s headquarters or office. The digital nomad lifestyle has been made possible through a number of innovations, including content management software, cheap internet access through WiFi, smartphones, and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) to keep in contact with clients and employers.”
