To shorten your URL you can go to bitly. I did that for an old website of mine and they created the following web address for me:

http://bit.ly/1Iw7g08

An advantage to using bitly is that once you sign up (for free) you can analyze and track clicks to your site by showing you how many and when. Bitly, Inc. was established in 2008. The Bitly URL shortening service became popular on Twitter after it became the default URL shortening service on the website on May 6, 2009. It was subsequently replaced by Twitter’s own t.co service.
