Excel’s Hash Reference

What is the hash symbol that you see in some formulas? What does it do? If you have Microsoft 365, you have access to the hash symbol and it can make your work easier.

You can only use the hash sign when you are referencing a range that is spilling. The great thing about the hash sign is that it is dynamic. If the spilled range expands, the formula using the hash symbol also expands.
